What is the first thing people associate with KPOP other than the fact that it isn’t in English? Globally revered boy group BTS or 방탄소년단 who have risen to the tops of the charts since their debut in 2013 are widely recognised as the standard of KPOP in most of the western world.

Spring Formal Festivities

On March 19th, Covenant college students dressed to the nines and made their way to the Hunter Art Museum for Spring Formal. The event has not been held since Spring of 2019. In 2021 spring formal took place at the aquarium and there was no dancing. Everyone dressed up to walk around and see the fish at the aquarium.

The Magic Flute

Die Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or in English, The Magic Flute, is an opera performed in two acts. The opera is well loved and often performed around the world. While the opera was originally written and performed in German, there are translations available in a variety of languages for ease of performance or understanding. The Magic Flute opera was first performed in 1791, at the Freihaus-Theater auf der Wieden in Vienna and is the first opera that Covenant College has ever done. It was directed by Keturah Stickann, with costumes by Courtney McKenzie.

Either little grins or big bright smiles that make your cheeks hurt. In how his eyes squint when he grins and the way the smile splits her face into a look of joy. There is something so pure about how someone smiles when they are being so genuine.

The Christians

The Friday night before Thanksgiving break, my friend Taylor and I sat in Sanderson 215

excited to watch The Christians by Lucas Hnath — Covenant Theatre’s second live performance

of the year. The show was directed by theatre professor Camille Hallstrom and included an

incredible cast of Covenant students and a gospel choir led by James Ward.
