Dear Covenant Community,
As many of you may know, over Thanksgiving Break our house (1107 Highway 157) burned down due to faulty wiring. Fortunately, all of us were away, so no one was injured. But we were completely stunned to learn about the loss of our home and possessions. However, when the Covenant body, as well as our friends and family from back home, heard the news, they were, and continue to be, quick and eager to help in any way possible, and we deeply appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
The girls from 1107, or, as we liked to call it, “The Fox Den,” want to express to you how grateful we all are for everything the community has done for us. These past few weeks have certainly been made extra stressful with the loss of our beloved home, but the outpouring of love, support, and generosity we have received from all of you has truly been so special to us. We continue to be amazed by the ways in which people have donated time, money, clothes, and a wide variety of other things without any hesitation or second thoughts. This community has gone above and beyond what we ever would have expected, and we are incredibly blessed to have you all.
We continue to reflect on the Covenant community’s response to our small loss, and we can easily see the work of the Holy Spirit. As a body of Christ, you all have so wonderfully emulated Christ in your words and actions, and it has been so encouraging for us to see. We really cannot thank you enough and are overwhelmed with the knowledge of how well cared for we are by everyone at this college, students and faculty alike. How rare it is to find a community so wholeheartedly devoted to living out their faith, and how blessed we are to be a part of it.
