The Scots have returned to the courts, trails and fields for volleyball, soccer, cross country and golf.
The women’s soccer team held the kick-off of the fall season with a home opener Friday, September 1, and fell to Transylvania 3-1. They are 0-1-3 after tying Birmingham Southern and Bob Jones on the road and tying Sewanee at home. Lucy Sandhoff, a fifth year senior goalkeeper, broke the Scots Soccer school record of career saves by making her 306th save against Birmingham Southern. The self proclaimed Daughters of Scotland are seeking to prove wrong the fourth place CCS ranking.
Women’s volleyball is killing it with a record of eight wins and two losses. Their home opener drew a crowd to watch the four set defeat of Sewanee. Seniors Kyla Bailey and Emma Kalbfleisch have received honors as CCS Players of the week, as well as freshman Sarah Jennings, receiving CCS Rookie of the week. Scots volleyball is ranked first place by the CCS poll this season.
Men’s soccer is 2-1-3 on their road to defending their CCS Conference Champion title, and they are the #1 seed in the preseason poll. Their September 5 home opener against Bob Jones did not disappoint fans as they made a comeback to beat Bob Jones 2-1. Sophomore goalkeeper Eli Honeycutt was named CCS Defensive Player of the Week on September 6th.
The Scots Cross Country team is off to the races with a strong start in the Berry Cross country opener. The men finished in third place, and the women in second. Freshman Ethan Saiki earned the honor of CCS Rookie of the week. Scots cross country is ranked #3 in the CCS poll.
Scots Golf participated in the Coastal Georgia Classic so far and have four more invitationals this fall.
Scots tennis made a strong start to their fall season at the Brevard Invitational. The men’s team won nine to zero, and the women’s team won eight to one.
The JV Scots are back and fired up due to a push in recruiting players. The highly competitive games have drawn out bigger student sections than in years past.
