New Transcript Option in Banner

The Office of Records is rolling out a new feature in Banner that will allow students and alumni to send and receive their academic transcripts electronically.

Records is partnering with Parchment, an online academic credentials management service, to offer the feature to students and alumni who want to send their transcript electronically to another institution or potential employer. The new partnership will also allow the Office of Records to receive e-transcripts from other colleges or high schools.

The Office of Records said that the new system should be up and running by the end of this semester. “Anyone,” said Dean of Records Rodney Miller, “will also be able to access it through a web link on the Records & Registration webpage to the Parchment web portal where they will be creating an account and completing an electronic signature to fulfill the federal requirement.”

Miller pointed out that students and alumni will be able to access their academic records 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

Students can access the Parchment web portal through their Banner account under the “Student Records” tab. There will also be link on the Records & Registration webpage for either current students or alumni.

The process will take slightly longer for alumni who graduated before 1989, as the Records will have to physically scan their transcripts.

Once the link to Parchment is up, there will be a $6 fee for an e-transcript or a $9 fee for a paper transcript. The Office of Records does not currently have a fee to process transcripts.

Additionally, students who have a hold on their account will not be able to order a transcript till that hold is removed.
