College Republicans and College Democrats clubs at Christian colleges like Wheaton, Grove City, Messiah, Calvin, and Gordon recently geared up for the midterm elections. During election season, political clubs promote student involvement in politics by conducting voter registration drives, publishing informational pamphlets, and recruiting student volunteers for campaigns.

Meet Drakeford

Day of Prayer means a lot of things to Covenant students. A day of much needed rest and reflection. A day of hall life and fellowship. A day of catching up on school work. A day of opportunities to wrestle with the Lord in prayer individually or with others. This fall, in addition to the student-led sunrise service, tower tours, and the chapel times set apart for prayer for the Covenant community, the local music duo Drakeford closed out Covenant’s day of prayer on Wednesday, September 19 with a worship-style concert.

Banjo Jones Elected Freshmen Class President

After two days of voting, the freshman class of 2022 chose Benjamin “Banjo” Jones as their president. His victory on Thursday, September 27 came at the end of an eventful campaign season which saw candidates appeal to fellow Covenant freshmen through Instagram accounts, posters, and even an endorsement from a local business. These other presidential candidates—Tyler Kelly, Nathaniel Kumar, Edoardo Santi, and Benaiah Woodrow—made it an intriguing and close race.

Homecoming through the Eyes of an Alum

On September 14 and 15, hundreds of Covenant alumni returned to the mountain to celebrate Homecoming 2018. The weekend kicked off with chapel on Friday led by Chaplain Grant Lowe, and culminated in a fireworks show on Saturday night at Scotland Yard. Events scheduled in between included Jazz on the Overlook, soccer games, residence hall visits, and more.
