You might have heard of England, a sea-locked union of countries in Europe. A rather wealthy country, which has struck more luck compared to the rest of the world, has fallen into a recession this year. While this may be surprising—even shocking—recessions don’t happen for no reason.
The show was directed by Professor Claire Slavovsky of the theater department, and music direction was provided by Professor David Tahere of the music department. Costume designer Courtney McKenzie brought the iconic characters of the Seuss tales to life with her imaginative designs, blending whimsy and nostalgia.
Somehow my feet led me to a pile of rubble
The skeleton of an old building
And I sat on a chipped concrete block and cried.
In between my tears I laughed at myself
Realizing how pathetic it must have looked
How melodramatic
That one bad mile
And the pain in my foot
Could contain so much fear
So much disappointment
So much shame.
Our currency is a facet of life which has not been immune to digitization. In a world that is rapidly changing, it is easy to accept that our currency will evolve around it, but I would argue that we should scrutinize and think very deliberately before accepting that our currency must evolve in this fashion.
On Friday March 1st, Chaplain Grant Lowe gave a chapel talk on the subject of not letting temptation cause you to sin. Overall, Lowe’s talk and message were very necessary and in a lot of ways enriching when considered in a vacuum. But when you consider what he had to say with the backdrop of the context of his talk, some of the content caused a lot of people frustrations with this chapel talk in lieu of Spring Break coming up.
Beginning chronologically, we started with a UFC Headquarters tour. While we were there, we met with the Director of Operations at UFC and the Chief Marketing Officer at Professional Bull Riders. Along with Shenandoah University, we got a private tour of the state-of-the-art facility, a classroom-type session, and were even able to step into a training ring.
The Covenant golf team’s spring season has started! The team rosters 11 fellow Scot’s, with almost an even split between upperclassmen and underclassmen. The team is coached by Eddie Jackson, who is returning for his second year as head coach.
Covenant mens and womens tennis season is underway as of Friday, February 2. In their first matches of the season, the mens team defeated Transylvania 6-3. According to the CCS preseason polls, the mens team is expected to stay in the top seed, and the Lady Scots are currently projected to finish second.
